Intro to Cyanotype

  • The Scrappy Elephant (map)

Welcome to the wonderful world of cyanotypes, a place where science and magic meet to make some seriously beautiful art! Also refered to as sun prints, cyanotypes are know for their deep, prussian blue hue. Using found objects, including dried flowers, lace, photo negatives, and paper cutouts, Ellen will show you how to create stunning prints with a little bit of sun and water. You will learn how to mix the chemicals and properly coat a surface.

This class does require UV rays but we'll run the class so long as it's not raining. Please pack sunscreen and water since we'll be spending some time in the sun. Feel free to bring your own objects to print with you.
