Bespoke Bricks

Bespoke Bricks was born out of a love story of two geeks and the amazing little geek they made together. Not content to simply love building with LEGO, our little family decided that the family who plays together, also makes, and builds, and can now WEAR LEGO together too. We love wearing our LEGO so much that we now want to share that joy with everyone. Be it a dapper bow tie, cozy hat, cute hair clip, or even an adorable collar for your pet, now you can bring your love of LEGO into the world with you too. Trust us, it's amazing.

Camille Gerrick

Camille Gerrick is a multi-passionate creative who believes in the power of everyday objects to bring a sense of joy and whimsy to life.  As someone who lives with chronic health conditions, Camille enjoys the creative process as a way to focus on the positive.  Whether she is painting colorful gradients or designing new earrings, her work reflects a dedication to transforming the ordinary into sources of inspiration and delight.

Dog in the Woods

Evelyn “Lyn” Bufton founded Dog in the Woods in 2009 when she discovered that there were no products on the market that adequately protected her giant-breed Leonberger from being mistaken for a bear or deer. She ultimately obtained a design patent from the US government for her reflective nylon vests. With a seamstress mother, Lyn taught herself sewing with industrial machines out of the old textile mills. She began working with nylon webbing and made popular leashes, collars and harnesses. For several years, she worked with a local leather craftsman, learning how to create in that medium. Most recently, she has begun working in biothane, a waterproof PVC-coated webbing made in the USA. Most of what she has here are leather products: trays, bells and key chains. She also has some biothane leashes.

HA Tran

HA Tran is a lifelong dabbler in creative hobbies of all kinds. Creating works that embody comfort, positivity, and the joy of living as one’s own authentic self led HA to illustrate food. Outside of visual arts, HA can be found working on quilts, baking bread, or making music.

Laura Grice

Laura Grice is a Charlottesville local ceramicist making work at her home studio in Crozet. She works in stoneware clay and colored underglaze. Outside of her art practice, she has put her sculptural skills to use decorating elaborate wedding cakes at a local bakery since 2018. Grice graduated from UVA in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture. She takes inspiration from botanical forms, European folk arts, and product design from the 60’s and 70’s. Her goal is to make fun, bold, colorful pieces that can be used and enjoyed every day.

Madi Hepner

I have been in love with all varieties of art ever since childhood, but my passion for creating truly started to blossom in high school, taking as many art classes as possible and finding any reason to be in the art room in my free time. I put my serious art endeavors on hold while completing my bachelor’s degree at James Madison University where I majored in psychology, but I still found time to craft with friends or create for my own enjoyment! Having explored various career avenues, I now hope to pursue a more serious career as an artist, most recently specializing in making polymer clay earrings for myself and others— I love being able to make things with my hands that bring others joy!

Melissa Smith Kennedy

My mom and grandmother were both crafters. I grew up surrounded by projects, using their leftover bits to make my own creations. The ornaments here are inspired by my grandmother's tree--she handcrafted nearly every ornament on it, and it was a thing of wonder. Much of the fabric, trim, and all of the pins used to make these are from Scrappy Elephant. I've also gotten into making collages in the last few years and really love taking old magazines and bits of paper that otherwise end up in the trash, turning them into something expressive. Cutting out fabric and paper, pinning and gluing are all meditative; I feel better when I'm making things.

Minou Beling

I'm Minou Beling, a graphic designer from Berlin, Germany. I am a trained milliner, offset printer and have a BA in graphic design. I worked for many years in advertising agencies in Berlin as a print production manager and have a strong background in communication and design. I have worked as a preschool teacher and teach Art to children in Charlottesville. I create sustainable art and products using found objects, scraps trash and offcuts.I am always on the lookout for a new creative challenge and love to beautify my surroundings.

Reta Crenshaw

Reta Crenshaw, a senior who loves all types of crafts, found out about Scrappy looking for yarn at the Goodwill. I overheard from a customer there that there is the greatest place that sells used and unwanted art supplies. The shop is the one-stop shop for all my supply needs. As a digital designer artist I have found so much yarn, beads, pens, paper, and more. WOW. All of the supplies I found have allowed me to branch out in other directions. Happy Crafty Senior Lady

Suzanna Turanyi

Suzanna was born in Hungary and moved to the United States at the age of 22 to pursue a graduate degree in business. She built a career in finance and human resources while raising her two children. In her spare time, Suzanna always had a passion for art, particularly photography, which allowed her to capture the beauty of her children’s lives and the world around them. Recently, she discovered the world of resin arts, where she combines her love for nature and design into unique floral creations.
