Hello friends. I read this on Saturday (it is from a lovely newsletter I subscribe to called Chop Wood, Carry Water by Jessica Craven- “... I’ll take breaks from the news, get some exercise, listen to good music, keep reading my Che Guevara book, and try to take a few naps. Such things feed my spirit, which is what’s sustaining me right now. You have your own spirit-sustaining activities—cling to them! They’re worthy in and of themselves, but they’re also shelters from fascism—remember, people like Musk and Trump have no notion of beauty, or connection, or friendship, or simple pleasures. Fascists eschew such things, and that’s all the more reason we shouldn’t.

Who knew that dinner with a dear friend, a walk with one’s dog, or a trip to an art gallery would be part of our resistance? But they are. They truly are. So please, fit them in somehow.”

I took that to heart on Saturday and made sure not to do a drop of work (well I did the bare minimum at least). I found time to spend a lot of time in nature with Little Scrappy, finished a book, worked on a painting. I hope you are able to find some time to do some self sustaining work today or at some point this week. And what is more self sustaining than art making? We have quite a few bits of fun here for you today for your next project. We have all that is pictured below and oh SO much more thanks to this incredible community and the amazing Scrappy team who sorts and organizes it all for you! We’re open from 11-5 today for all things creative reuse. Wishing you a restful and creative day friends!
