February 28th, 2025- aka Economic Blackout

In case you haven’t heard, there is an economic blackout this Friday. What is an economic blackout you might ask? It is a grassroots movement encouraging people in our country not to buy anything from major retailers for 24 hours in order to protest rising prices and corporate greed. The main businesses on the list are Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Here is a direct quote from an article I read about the blackout, “The importance of February 28 lies in it being a first step, a warning shot if you will, to demonstrate the powerful impact of consumer behavior has on the economy. By uniting in this boycott, participants will showcase the vulnerability of capitalist structures to collective action.”

If you are as fed up at rising prices and corporate greed as we are, then please consider not buying anything from these major retailers today. Instead, support your favorite LOCAL businesses!

And if you need art supplies for your next project, we have you covered! We have so much fun here for you today- from markers, to yarn, to fabric, to paint and everything in between, we have it for you. We’re open from 9-6 and we’d love to see you stop by around noon to sit in our library, have a cup of tea, work on your WIP, and meet new friends during our Scrappy Crafty Hour.

Wishing you a wonderful day of creativity and local business love!
